This year marks a century since Parliament passed a law allowing women to vote for the first time: the 1918 Representation of the People Act.

We will be celebrating this important milestone in the UK’s democratic history with a talk about the battle to win Votes for Women.

Find out the difference between a Suffragette and a Suffragist (yes it matters!) and why the campaign went from peaceful marches to hunger strikes, smashed windows, forcible feeding and prison for hundreds of women.
